Kristofer Bo
BACKGROUND
Kristofer have his background in dances from the african diaspora. Afroamerican street dances, salsa and afro caribbean dances.
He have studied and explored many different dance genres & in many different contexts: social dancing, competition & artistic stage dance etc.
EDUCATION
Kristofer is graduated from the dance pedagogy program at KAU University Sweden, where he has received a Higher education diploma in dance pedagogy: Musical Interpretation & performance.
After working in an international and multicultural context for over a decade, it was a natural step for him to specialize in Dance didactics in an international context, done at the University of arts in Stockholm (the autumn of 2021).
He holds a broad formal pedagogical & dance technical academic qualified university education. This both in afroamerican street dances (housedance & hiphop) and western dances (contemporary dance, jazz and ballet).
My diverse education have given me broad perspectives and a good general understanding for dance as a artform, what it is and can be.
TEACHING EXPERIENCE
He has taught at the Swedish Cultural School in Stockholm and several private schools & compulsory school in Sweden. In Barcelona, ​​he has worked at a number of schools such as Bailongu, Yisbell, Cdmh, Farrays Int. Dance center, Streetdance Area to name a few. Since 2019, he runs the dance education company Interact Dance.
DANCE, COMPETITION & STAGE EXPERIENCE
In the beginning of his dance career he was involved with competitive dancing in Hip hop and "showdance". During 2011-2013 Kristofer was active in the battlescene in Barcelona. He has been performing at the biggest theaters in Barcelona and was a part of the contemporary dance company W.I.P ( 2013-2014).
SOCIALDANCING
Apart from starting hes career with competitive dancing the spontaneous, improvised, prestige less social dancing have since day one been his greatest passion.
Social dancing, percussive- improvisational music & dance is a part of my social & cultural identity "
He started in the latin social dance communities with salsa and latin dances & later on social dancing in hiphop & house. During the last decade he has been involved in the social salsascene & culture in Barcelona.
moving in between different environments and contexts both privately and through my profession has given me an understanding of different cultures, identities, lifestyles, world views & dance traditions. Diversity & hybridity is today a big part of my life in many ways, and so my interest of intercultural strategies. I think it is an advantage as an educator to be able to meet and understand all people regardless of background, views on life or culture. I give a big importance to how I treat people in my work and make sure that everyone is seen.
